University of Utah--PAC 10 (PAC12)!!

Oh...the most exciting and historical thing happened last month..The University of Utah (My UTES) was invited and accepted to be part of the PAC 10 (will become PAC 12)!!!!

What does this mean? Ohh....it's such a a big honor, we now have a chance to play in The Rose Bowl and we finally have a chance to become National Champions in sports..especially Football. Hello BCS, we are here to stay. As you probably know, my hubby and I have been Utah Football season ticket holders for the last 7 years, we could not be more proud of the Utes. Football games starting 2011 are now going to get more exciting!!!

In case you have been living under a rock (just kidding)..this movie came out last month:

I just have to say..it's my favorite movie out of the Twilight series so far..the movies just keep getting better and better. Having read all the books, Eclipse was not my favorite..but the movie version is. It was so good..it followed the story really well, and can I say Jacob..wow! But I am still Team Edward, but Jacob --not bad to look at, lol. I've already seen this movie twice and want to see it again!

Another awesome movie I went to see with my hubby was The Karate Kid movie with Jaden Smith (Will Smiths' son) and Jackie Chan..I absolutely loved this movie. That little Jaden Smith has a great future ahead of him! This movie is a must see!

Hello..I'm back..sorry I've been gone for a little while. I've just been busy with work and spending time with family. So I have some exciting info about my favorite singer David Archuleta..yes I will admit I am a little obsessed, but what is there not to love about David!

Last month his book "Chords of Strength" came out. Of course I bought it the day it came out. It was so good! He is amazing. The book made it to New York's Best Sellers list! He did a book singing tour and one of the stops was at the Salt Lake City Deseret Book. I went really early and stood (sat) in line waiting for David, it was so much fun, I made some friends..it's nice meeting people that understand and share my feelings for David Archuleta. Great Weekend!

I had a really nice Holiday weekend. Saturday my mom and I went to the Grand America hotel and had a delicious Valentine's Day lunch buffet. It was so fancy and delicious. The had caviar, which I had no interest in trying, but everything else was delicious. The dessert bar was awesome. They even had heart shaped desserts..how cute. The had the best bread pudding, I think it was made out of croissants..yum! Then my mom and I went to see the movie "Dear John." It was a good movie, it was cute, funny, romantic and sad. I had a blast spending time with my mom. She is such an awesome woman, I admire and love her so much.

So for Valentine's day, I had told my hubby that I didn't want him spending money on me, because it shouldn't be about spending money on each other, I would rather spend time with him and have him write me a love letter or something. Anyway, so he got me this cute Valentine's Day card, with a sweet message, it made me cry. He also surprised me and got me a cute blanket with hearts and a heart shaped pillow. I wasn't expecting that, it was sweet. I am so thankful to have such a sweet and thoughtful husband. He truly is my best friend and I love him so much. So on Sunday (Valentine's Day) We went to Wendover with my husband's family. We had such a good time, ate some delicious food and even won a little money.

Today was President's day, so my husband and didn't have to work, we just stayed home all day, watched TV, ate some food and enjoyed our time together. I love those kind of days!

My dogs got bored and shredded their ropes and toys. They were exhausted afterwards, lol. Here is the mess they left:

I haven't felt like blogging much lately. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year's. We had a great holiday this year spending time with our families and having fun. Family is the best! Maybe I'll add pictures from the holidays later.

Anyways so today..I had a funny thought when I was at work:

Through my many years of working in (phone) customer service, I have learned the meaning of patience...patience to not interrupt people and tell them to shut up (or be quiet) and get to the point already....I don't need to know what you had for breakfast or that your dog is brown..let's get to the point here people.. ha ha.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and stays warm..it's been extra cold for some reason this winter in Utah.

David Archuleta Christmas From The Heart Concert

Last Wednesday my hubby and I went to the David Archuleta Christmas From The Heart concert at the Abravanel Hall. I have to say that it was the best concert that I've ever been to. David is just amazing. I love his voice, his spirit, he just has a way of touching people. I know my hubby was not too excited about going to this concert, because he's not as crazy about David as I am, but I am so glad and thankful that my hubby agreed to go with me. I think he had a good time.

David sang most of the songs from him Christmas From The Heart CD and a few from his first CD, it was even better listening to these songs live. His band and the orchestra were also amazing. Kurt Bestor also accompanied him on the piano for an awesome song. There was even a children's choir and his mom Lupe made a surprise appearance and sang a duet with David. There was a wonderful spirit and reverence that was felt that night at Abravanel, it's just indescribable. It was an amazing night full of surprises and awesome performances. I and many other people even cried a little. What can I say it was just an amazing night that I will never forget.

New Moon!

I watched New Moon on Thursday at midnight....and it was Awesome!! It was so much better than Twilight. I loved that they closely followed the book, at least the important stuff. It was so much fun going the midnight show, the theatre was so packed, it was so exciting to be there! I really need to see this movie again and again!

Utah Women's Conference at Abravanel Hall

On Monday, October 26th my mom and I attended Senator Orrin Hatch's Women's Conference at the Abravanel Hall. We had so much fun. First of all David Archuleta was the first speaker. If you know me, you know that I loooove David Archuleta. I love his personality, his voice, everything about him. I didn't think he would speak for very long, cause he doesn't really like public speaking, but he ended up talking for 50 minutes! I recorded his whole speech. It's hard to believe how wise he is for only being 18 years old. Per audience request, he even sang a song..O Holy Night..awww, it was amazing. Here is my recording of part 1 of 6:

After hearing his amazing speech and song, I could have just gone home happy, but our fun day was not over :) After David spoke, we went to some inspirational workshops. One of the workshops was given by Author Richard Paul Evans, he talked about Five ways to reach your greatest life potential. I was very impressed by what he had to share with us, including some funny and inspirational stories. I knew that he was an amazing author, but I learned so much more about him and his life. My mom and I enjoyed this workshop very much, we even met him later and got his autograph.

So at the end of the workshops, a lady gets on the podium and announces that David Archuleta will be signing autographs downstairs in a few minutes. So I (like a 12 year old crazed fan, lol), ran--ok walked really fast downstairs to get in line to meet and get an autograph by David Archuleta. Ok I know I'm a little ridiculous, but it's been one of my dreams to meet David Archuleta. So my mom and I got in line and my dream finally came true, I got to meet David, got his autograph and even got a picture with him (thanks mom). I didn't really know what to say to him, but I think I said, I'm a big fan and see you at your concert in November. He was so sweet and friendly.

After meeting David, we had a delicious lunch. Then we went back to the Hall and listened to some music by world famous pianist Roger Williams

He was so hilarious and an amazing pianist. We enjoyed listening to him very much. He told stories about playing for a lot of the US presidents.

After Roger, we had the pleasure and honor to listening to Laura Bush speak.

She was so inspirational and funny. She gave us an update on her family life and about her accomplishments. She even talked about a gift she got...a Laura Bush bobble head..you can see the top of the bobble head in the picture above, lol.

It was such an amazing day. I am so happy my mom and I had the opportunity to share this day together. I will remember this awesome day for a long time.

P.S. New Moon movie....19 days away, David Archuleta concert...25 days away!!!! Awwhh my life is so exciting!

Drive In

A few weeks ago my hubby, his cousins, aunt, uncle, our niece and I went to the drive in movies. We watched the movie District 9 and The Ugly Truth, good and interesting movies. So if you've ever been to the drive in movies, you know that you get to see two shows, they show one movie, then there is an intermission and then you get to watch the second movie. We'll my five year old niece needed to badly use the restroom during intermission, so I walk with her to the restroom and when we get there..there is about fifty girls/women standing in line(I'm not even kidding). They only had one restroom(with several stalls) for the whole drive in theatre with about 9 screens…so that's a lot of people all in one place. Anyways…so we go to the end of the line and after a couple of minutes my little niece tells me that she doesn't think she can hold it for much longer. So, me not having any children of my own and not being experienced in situations like this..thinks..we'll people should be understanding and nice enough to let us cut in line right? Especially if my niece is going to pee her pants.. so we start walking towards the front of the line and I approach a lady standing close to the front of the line with some teenage age looking girls, I politely ask her if she wouldn't mind letting us cut in because my niece needs to go really bad and she doesn't think she can hold it…this lady looks at me and rudely says, we'll my kids have to go too, so you are just going to have to wait in line …then she turns her back to me. I could not believe what I was hearing, this lady was so rude, I felt so bad for my niece who was trying as hard as she could to hold it in. We'll the lady that was standing in line behind the rude lady had heard what was going on and she tells us, we'll you can cut in front of us if your niece can't hold it. I thanked her..I'm glad there is still nice people in this world. Needless to say, my niece made it safely to the potty with no accidents. I don't have any children of my own yet and I wasn't aware how these things work..so my question is..are people/mothers this rude sometimes..sheesh!

Every year September 11 brings so many memories..I could just cry thinking about it. First of all, growing up, my family and I lived in New York and New Jersey and on numerous occasions we had visited and been inside the Twin Towers/The World Trade Center either for family vacations or for school field trips. We had been on the very top floor observation deck of the World Trade Center, where you would look down and the people looked like ants. It is amazing to think that such a landmark could be taken down within hours. It is so sad to think of all the lives lost on that tragic day of September 11, 2001.
I will never forget that sad day, I had just arrived to work, I was working at Express Personnel staffing service at that time. I walked in the door of my office and my friend/co-worker Geri was sitting there watching TV..which was unusual, I asked her what she was watching and she told me almost in tears that our country was under attack. I was in shock in disbelief from what I was hearing and seeing. All we did for most of that morning and day was sit there and watch our little 13 inch TV in shock of what was going on. I remember calling my husband(who was my boyfriend at that time), he was home, I asked him if he knew what was going on, I think he turned the TV on at that moment and was in total shock. I don't understand how people could be so evil to do something like this. Exactly a year after Sept 11, 2001, my husband and I were flying home from our honeymoon in Las Vegas. We remember the airport and airplanes being bare, people did not want to fly very much especially on that day..which just happened to fall during our honeymoon. It was a sad reminder of what our country had gone through the year before.
In July of 2004, my hubby and I flew to New York City on vacation, while we were there, we got a chance to visit Ground Zero..the place where the Twin Towers once stood. Tears came down our face from looking at the pile of concrete and dust laying where the Towers once stood. Right at the same moment that we were standing there ,starring in disbelief, a group of children on a school trip congregated next to us and started singing The National Anthem as a homeless guy sat on the ground playing his flute in tune with the singing.
Such an indescribable feeling and emotion came over us at that moment. We will never forget the feeling of being there..It brings me to tears just thinking about it. In fact every time I hear the National Anthem, I get emotional. As we looked around the buildings that surrounded Ground Zero, we noticed that there were still buildings missing windows, which were now covered with boards. The church across the street from Ground Zero had a memorial for the people's lives lost that day. We also had the chance to talk to one of the street vendors who told us a little bit about his experience that day, he told us how he had heard the planes hitting the buildings and hearing the shatter of glass. He then told us how he remembers a wave of dust and debris coming down the street as one of the Towers collapsed..he said he just remembers running down the street as fast as he could with a wave of dust and debris following him. I can't imagine being there witnessing this. I am so thankful that my hubby and I had the chance to visit New York and go through the experiences we did. I am so thankful and blessed for living in a such an amazing country.

Bugs!

Bugs are ruining my life!!..Ok not really, but they are really annoying. I really really really can not stand bugs. They are just gross looking and they creep me out. My hubby thinks it's funny, but I really can not stand them and they scare me. The other day I went to my backyard to turn on the sprinklers and I come back to go in the house and I find this standing on the doorstep:
A grasshopper!! If I would have opened the door it would have walked right in my house. I threw rocks at it, tried to move it with a stick and the darn thing wouldn't move. I was afraid it would jump on me and I would freak out, lol. I was held hostage by this grasshopper for like 10 minutes. I tried to yell for my husband who was inside the house, but he didn't hear me...so what I did was grab the hose and sprayed the thing away from the door..the darn thing didn't even die, it just hopped away..eww it was creepy. Then the other day I was sitting on my couch and I felt a bug land on me..but I have no idea where it went, it really creeped me out. The other day a bat--not really(I like to exaggerate)..a butterfly size moth flew in my house and I was running away from it yelling as my husband laughed, lol. I am seriously afraid of bugs and creepy things. I wish they didn't exist, but I guess God created them for a reason..I just wish they would leave me alone :)

Garage Sale

Last Saturday my mother-in-law, sister-in-law and I had a garage sale. It was so hot that day, I think it got to 103 degrees! What were we thinking, we picked the wrong day to have a sale :) It went pretty well, kind of slow at first but people started coming. We sat in the shade the whole time...However, my sister-in-law and I still ended up getting a little sunburned by the end of the day....I don't get it, how does that happen? It was worth it though, I ended up getting rid of useless stuff and got some extra $.

Last week my hubby and I went to eat at Applebee's and we were talking to the waiter and we asked him what he thought about Michael Jackson passing away..and he said.."he died, really, when?" We asked him, haven't you watched TV, it's all over the news? And he said " I don't own a T.V. , I don't watch T.V." .......My thoughts, were, What??? Who doesn't own a T.V.? I'm confused? lol

Last weekend my hubby and I went to see Gabriel Iglesias at the Capital Theatre in Salt Lake City. We had so much fun. Gabriel was so hilarious. If you haven't heard of him, he's had his own Comedy Central specials and he was one of the contestants on "The Last Comic Standing." He says he's not fat, he's "fluffy"..too funny! He is is one of our favorite comedians. We were so excited that we got to see him live, take pictures and meet and chat with him after the show. We were surprised how down to earth and nice he was. My Random Thoughts

1. Why is that my 16 hour makeup only lasts like 4 hours?

2. Why is it that when I pull up to the drive-up window, I panic because I don't know what to order..then I end up ordering the same thing every time.

3. I have learned that when things go wrong, with a little bit of patience and a little faith, somehow things always work out in the end.

4. Why is it that some days I totally feel sociable and hyper and other days I feel moody and not wanting to talked to anyone?

5. How come washing dishes, doing laundry, cleaning the house and paying bills never goes away!

6. Why do I love David Archuleta so much?

7. Why is it that sometimes when I leave home to go to work I get the feeling that I've forgotten
to do something…but I never actually remember what it was until I get to work?

8. Why is it that when I forget to take my shopping list to the grocery store, I can't ever remember what was on the list.

9. Why is it that I have so much fun hanging out with my family?

10. Why is it that once my jeans or shoes start feeling really comfortable..they get old and worn and I have to get new ones?

11. Why is it that I'm feeling old..lately I find my self saying stuff like…man that girl thinks she knows everything, she should start listening to my advice, she's only 23 years old..what does she know..ha ha. I bet someone older than me is saying the same thing about me :)

Real Salt Lake Game & David Archuleta

On Saturday my hubby and I went to the Real Salt Lake vs Colorado Rapids soccer game at the Rio Tinto Stadium. It was a fun game, we ended up with a tied game 1-1...at least we didn't lose. But the highlight of my night were the David Archuleta performances.

Raja surgery

My doggie Raja had this little growth on his face, so he had to have surgery to have it removed. Poor baby, they had to give him anesthesia and IV and all. It was kind of scary, but thank goodness everything went well. They sent him home with beef flavored chewable pain medicine...who would have known..he really likes them. So now he is home recovering. He really hates the the cone around his neck, he keeps running in to things.

Computer free days!

Just as a test, this weekend I decided to not use the computer at all, which is hard for me, because I pretty much use a computer everyday of my life, lol. It was a nice little break, I felt free. It also helped that we had a busy weekend with birthdays and cleaning and stuff. It was a beautiful weekend, so it was nice to be outside enjoying the beautiful weather. I think I'll try the no PC days more often!

My sweet co-worker went to Disneyworld last week and brought back yummy chocolate covered pretzels for the girls and I at work. They where so cute, I almost didn't want to eat mine...but I did, and it was delicious! I wonder how she kept the chocolate from melting bringing them back all the way from Florida :)

My hubby had his doctor's appointment the other day, the doctor told him he is doing really well and told him he could be off the crutches and could start walking on his own now. We were really excited to hear this news. My poor hubby though, since he hasn't been able to put any weight on his left leg for a month, now he has one leg a little smaller than the other, it's not very noticeable, but he feels a little conscious about it. So basically he is doing much better, but not better enough to mow the lawn yet, so today, I spent 2 hours mowing the lawn, I'm so sore right now, but I was surprised I was able to do it. I had a really productive day, I washed all the dishes, did all the laundry and went grocery shopping and even had enough time to watch the movie Bride Wars w\my hubby, it was a pretty good movie, I wouldn't buy it though. So yeah, now I need to go to bed, we are going to have a very busy day tomorrow celebrating with the moms in our lives. Happy Mother's day to all the mothers out there!

Last week my hubby and I went to see the movie The Fast and Furious, it was really good! I recommend it. I think it's the best one out of the series. Today we went to see The X-Men Origins Wolverine movie, I wasn't sure if I would like it, but I really enjoyed it. I'm not really in to The X-Men movies, but this one was so good and easy to follow. On another note, today marks a month since my hubby had his knee surgery, he is feeling so much better. He has a follow up appointment with his doctor this Thursday, we get to find out if he can be off crutches and if he can start physical therapy, we have our fingers crossed.

Britney Spears Concert

My awesome hubby bought me tickets to the Britney Spears concert for my bday. I have always loved her music, especially her older songs, so I was super excited. The concert was on Tues, April 14th. The Pussycat Dolls where the opening act, they were so good too. The concert was so much fun! I was a little disappointed that Britney was lip synching almost the whole time, but it was cool to see her. The theme of the concert was Circus, they had a lot of cool circus acts/shows. Here are some pictures from my night. Sorry you missed the concert babe, I know you were heart broken.

Knee surgery

My hubby had been having left knee pain for a while, he had been putting off going to the doctor..well he finally went in and found out that he had a torn meniscus. The doctor told him that he needed surgery immediately. He had the surgery last week. Everything went well, except that the doctor found out that the tear was bigger than he though. Basically it was multiple little tears. So now he can not put any weight on his left foot for a month. He has to get around with crutches for a whole month. He is miserable, he has to be off work for at least 6 weeks. But it will all be worth it when he is recovered and feeling brand new. So I've been nurse Patty, helping him with whatever he needs. Poor pizza delivery guy

On Sunday the hubby and I ordered pizza from Domino's, the delivery guy arrived, delivered our pizza and left(so we thought)....a minute later the doorbell rings again..and it's the delivery guy at our door...he had locked his keys and his cell phone in his running car in our driveway. Poor guy, we felt bad for him, so we let him in the house, let him use our phone to call his work and to call a locksmith. It was starting to snow and it was cold, so we told him to come in and have a seat while he waited for help to arrive. My hubby hung out with him and kept him company for like an hour, we also gave him some water to drink. By the time help arrived, my hubby and the delivery guy had gone through each other's life's stories, it was cool. We'll I guess we did our good deed for the week and it's amazing the things you learn from people when you actually sit down and listen. The delivery guy thanked us and told us we where good people for letting him come in our house and wait.

I had a funny start to my day yesterday...I woke up at 6 am and thought for some reason it was a weekday. At first I was concerned because my alarm had not gone off and I was going to be late to work. So I got up, walked to the bathroom, turned the radio on, started brushing my teeth. I was confused because my regular morning show wasn't on...then I realized it was Saturday and went back to bed. What a geek I am, LOL!!!

I am revealing all of my secrets..ok not all, just some of my Money Saving Tips. Here are a list of things I do or have done to save money. Some of you might already do some of these things, but here's my list:

1. I downgraded cable from Extended cable w/DVR boxes to just Basic cable with no boxes. In addition, I got a TiVo(there is a one time equipment fee..but it's worth it), I pay an extra $12.99 a month for the TiVo service and I'm able to dvr/record my shows and download movies cheaper than renting. About 80% of my favorite shows are on local channels, so I won't miss my extra 60 channels. All together this is saving me about $60 a month!

2. I downgraded my Comcast internet service to an Economy package, which gives me a slower connection..really not too noticeable..for half the price!

I cannot tell you how many things I've won in the past, numerous free movie passes for movie screenings, money, the biggest prize I won was an all expense paid trip to see Madonna in concert in New York City! My hubby and I had a blast!

4. I actually mail in rebates and wait for my little check to come in the mail. By the time I get the check weeks later, I've forgotten about it, so it's a nice little surprise in the mail. It's gotten easier too, some rebates can now be filled out online.

5. My hubby and I like to eat out, but sometimes it's expensive, so every now and then, we just call our favorite restaurant and order take out instead. You don't have to pay a tip and you don't have to spend extra money on drinks or desserts. Usually the portion sizes are so big, that one meal will last 2 days. It's nice that you are home and you can put the left overs in the fridge right away instead of them sitting in front of you at a restaurant, tempting you :)

6. I buy meat in bulk quantity, then I separate portion sizes in to little zip lock bags and put them in the freezer. It saves money and also cuts down on defrosting time.

7. I recently started buying generic brand names for anything from my Zyrtec medicine to hand soap..the brand name doesn't really make a difference, same ingredients. Unless it's something like Oreo's, you can't substitute that.

8. I canceled my gym membership. I will start walking in my neighborhood now that the weather is nicer.

9. I canceled my newspaper subscription, I can read all the news online for free.

10. I started buying some needed items on EBay..you can find almost anything you need on there for a cheaper price. Example, I bought this Spanx item..it regularly sells for $75 ..I found the same item on EBay for $25 brand new w\tags..it just wasn't in the original box..but hey it worked. I also have found my makeup on there and it's cheaper than buying it from the stores and free shipping on top of that.

11. When doing online shopping, I always search for online discount codes for discounts and/or free shipping. Just Google the name of the store(website) and the word "online discount codes," and you will get several options. The codes don't always work, but hey it's worth a try.

12. I have insurance through my work and through my husband's work. We almost never have out of pocket expenses for hospital/doctor visits or medications throughout the year. If it's possible for you, I would recommend it.

13. I sign up for a Flex spending account with my work and my husband's work every year..tax free money that can be used for co pays, deductibles, over the counter items like cold medicine, cough drops, Band-Aids, pregnancy tests and many more items.

14. I sometimes rent free movies from the library..even new releases. I just go to the Salt Lake County library website and get put on a waiting list for the movies I want to see and they call me when it's available..sometimes it takes a few weeks to get a call, but hey it's free, so I don't mind waiting.

15. I always cut and use coupons. I make sure to carry them in a little baggie in my purse, so I don’t' forget to use them. Every penny saved counts! My hubby makes fun of me for carrying coupons around in my magical purse, lol.

16. I own a gas friendly car. A Volkswagen Jetta..I get about 36 mpg..it's a nice thing.

17. Whenever possible, I order from the kids menu instead of the regular menu..the portion sizes are not that much smaller and it will save you half the price and calories :)

So I haven't been feeling very good this week, I've had a sore throat, a cough that wouldn't go away and body aches. We'll, I went to the doctor yesterday and he said I officially have Strep throat. I was surprised..because I've never had strep throat before..I was waiting for him to say it was a negative strep test and then he said it's positive..I was surprised..I asked him if he was sure, lol. So here I am, sick at home with some good drugs.

I'm excited....it's gonna be a good year..first of all, I have tickets to the Britney Spears concert in April '09. I have always loved her music, especially her older songs. Second of all, my favorite..David Archuleta is coming in concert(finally) on Mar 27, 2009..I hope I can get tickets....And I am super excited for the sequel to Twilight the movie…"New Moon" coming out Nov 20, 2009.

It's like 61 degrees out there and sunny..Spring here we come.....I'm loving life :)

We had an awesome Valentine's day. Our day started out early..we went to my cousin's wedding, it was really nice. Then my awesome husband offered to take me to the movies and watch which ever chick flick I chose, so we watched "He's just not that into you." It was a cute movie, I really liked it and I really appreciated that my hubby sat there and watched this two and a half hour movie with me. It wasn't his favorite, but he made the sacrifice for me..I really love him for that. Later I asked him if he would watch Bride Wars and Confessions of a Shopaholic with me, but he refused, lol. Then he offered to take me to my favorite restaurant, Olive Garden..which means a lot because he really doesn't like that place at all (I don't get it, lol). My favorite part of the day was just being able to spend all day together, we usually don't get to do that because of our different work schedules, so it was really nice.

Then we came home and were pleasantly surprised with some unexpected money in the mail...what can I say, it was a really good day.

1. I didn't learn how to speak English until the second grade, when my family and I came to the U.S. Now I can speak English better than Spanish.

2. I must be the last person that hasn't ever been to Disneyland or Disneyworld...One day, I hope.

3. I DVR (record) like 14 different shows, sometimes I'm not able to watch them all.

4. I've only owned 3 cars in my life so far.

5. My hubby and I knew of each other 6 years before we became friends and then started dating.

My New Car!

I finally got a new car! My last car was giving me so many problems, so it was time to replace it. I got the car I always wanted, A Silver Volkswagen Jetta. It's a 2005 Jetta, black leather seats, 6 CD changer, sun roof, power locks, power windows and keyless entry, lol. This is funny to say..this is the first car I've owned with a CD player, power windows and keyless entry...so it's a pretty big deal to me..I coult not be more excited. I'm also happy because my new car only has 32,000 miles and it gets 36 miles per gallon, so I'm going to save money on gas!!

Last weekend my sister and I had a fun time hanging out together, we went to eat at one of our favorite places...Cafe Rio..it was delicious! Then we went to see Marley & Me. It was so cute..Being the dog lover that I am, I loved the movie. It made me laugh and cry. I had a fun time hanging out with my sister. Thank goodness for siblings :)

I could not have asked for a better Utah football season! My Utes killed Alabama yesterday in the Sugar Bowl. We are now the only undefeated college football team in the nation. A perfect 13-0!! I am still in shock this morning. We were not favored to win the Sugar bowl. We where suppose to lose by 10 points, lol. I am so excited today. I'm bouncing off the walls!! Yeah Go Utes!! We should be the National champions..maybe next year or the year after. So far my year has started off great! Hope everyone else had a Happy New Year's!!

When we got home from Andres' family's Christmas party, this is what we where greeted with:

You always wish for a white Christmas, but wow, there was a lot of snow when we got home. I was worried that we were'nt going to be able to get up our street, since it's usually the last to be plowed. I'm sitting here typing and it's still snowing, wow there is a lot of it. I'm glad I don't have to drive in it.

I haven't known what to blog about lately, so I'm just going to write what ever comes to mind :)

Lately I've been busy Christmas shopping and birthday present shopping for my dear family.

So I was listening to Christmas music and that song "Grandma got run over by a reindeer"(how harsh) came on. One of the lines in the song is "Grandma got run over by a reindeer, walking home on Christmas Eve."--My question is--Why didn't somebody give her a ride, lol..come on she's old, lol(reference to Happy Gilmore-one of my favorite movies, lol). Speaking of movies, Happy Gilmore was on T.V the other day and I watched it again for the 50th time..I know I'm weird, I own the DVD, but I just can't bare to put a DVD in the DVD player, it's much more fun for me to watch it when it's 0n T.V(Cable)...What can I say I'm old school.. Come on people, I just got rid of my VCR player last year and converted to a DVR\TIVO..my life is so much easier now.

I just got an early Christmas present from my hubby and I'm super excited. Here it is:

A brand new Dyson Vacuum! This little machine is amazing, the best vacuum I've ever owned. It does an amazing job, so easy to use, it's worth the price.

Anyways, I'm excited for this week to spend time with my family. We always have such a good time and eat yummy food, I love this time of the year. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!

Go Utes!! After a perfect season, my Utes have earned a spot to play Alabama in the BCS- Sugar Bowl on January 2, 2009 in New Orleans!! I am so excited! This is such a big deal. We are the original BCS busters and we've done it again. It's so awesome. I wish I could go to this game, it's on my Christmas wish list, but there is no way my hubby and I would be able to afford to go to the game, so we will just have to enjoy the game from home. I'm jealous of who ever gets to be there. This game will be the toughest game in U of U history.. Alabama was ranked # 1 in BCS polls in the beginning of the year. It's going to be a tough game, but I have faith that my Utes will prevail, lol. The way this season has gone, you don't know what to expect, but I know for a fact that my Utes will give it their best. GO UTES!!

Good Weekend

I've had a good long weekend so far. I had a really good time on Thursday, spending time with the family for Thanksgiving, ate some really delicious food, played games and had fun hanging out. That's what the holidays are all about, spending time with your loved ones. I am so thankful to have so many special people in my life including family members and friends.

So yesterday, I was one of those crazy Black Friday shoppers, I got up at 2 am, left my house at 2:30 am, I really only wanted to go to RC Willey, because they had some awesome deals. I was surprised that when I got there, there where already about 15 people in line. The first person in line said they got there at 8pm Thursday night...I thought I was crazy, but there are crazier people than me, lol. Even though I had to endure the rain and cold, I still loved being there, it's fun to talk to the people around you and find out what they are all buying, by the time the doors open, you all have become buddies, lol. It's just exciting and such a rush to be there. I got everything I wanted, so it was well worth my time to get up so early. After shopping, I went home and crashed.

This morning, I went to see Twilight again and I gotta say I loved it! The first time I saw it, I thought it was good and I really liked it, but it gets even better the second time. I caught more things that I hadn't notice the first time around. I want to see it again, lol. I can't wait 'til the sequel comes out, hopefully next year. After the movie, we went to eat at Applebee's, it was yummy. Then I came home and hung out with my hubby all day, doing nothing, just hanging out and watching T.V. I love lazy days :)

UTES 12-0!!

I could not have asked for a better weekend, I was able to see my UTES beat(kill) Byu 48-24 yesterday. I was so excited and nervous for this game all week. Byu had only lost one other game all season. With the out right Mountain West Championship and our perfect season on the line we didn't know what to expect coming in to this rivalry game.
The game started out evenly matched, but after the fourth quarter, we took over and beat Byu, going on to have a perfect 12-0 season, becoming the Mountain West Champions and becoming bound for a BCS bowl. We don't know yet which bowl we will be in, but it could be the Fiesta Bowl, Sugar Bowl, etc. Either way, it was so exciting to be there, witnessing my UTES have a perfect season again. Everyone was going nuts, it was so awesome. We needed this win, after Byu beating us the last two years, it was time for revenge and it feels so good, lol. I can't stop smiling today and I can't wait to go to work tomorrow and say hi to my Byu friends, lol.

I loved the Movie Twilight!! It was soooo good, I was so excited to see it and I was not disappointed. It was too funny, before the movie started someone in the theatre yelled "Team Edward" and girls started yelling, then someone yelled "Team Jacob" and some more girls yelled. Surprisingly, my hubby agreed to go to the movie, he had not read the book, so he looked at me like "what is going on, lol?" After we watched the movie, he understood the madness, I was glad that he enjoyed the movie. He said he might read the book now, lol.
Ohh I love Twilight, I can't wait till the next movie comes out. For now I'll be off re-reading Twilight.

What an Amazing night!!---or how they where calling it on the radio Unbelievable!! Last night we went to the Utah vs Tcu football game at Rice Eccles stadium. We knew coming in it would be a tough game and the most important game of the season. Our Utes had a slow start, Tcu statistically was looking better then we where. Up until the last minute it looked like Tcu was going win the game and upset our perfect season.....but somehow they managed to miss two field goals and the Utes pulled out a miracle and scored a touchdown with 48 seconds left in the game to beat Tcu and continue our perfect season. This game was the most exciting game that I've ever witnessed. It was also cool to see everyone dressed in black..honoring this Blackout game..Here is a cool video I found about last night's game:

Carlos Mencia in Wendover

Yesterday my hubby and I went to to see Carlos Mencia doing stand up comedy in Wendover. We had so much fun. Carlos was hilarious, he even threw some funny local jokes covering Provo, the Utes, and the Utah Jazz. Before the show Andres and I also got to meet him, take pictures with him and get his autograph, he was so cool. We had an awesome night!

If I could write a book, I would call it Confessions of a Customer Service Rep. Here are some things you would find in my book:

1. When you first call, don't go on about what you need, please give me your account number first, so I can have something to look at.

2. Don't give me more info than I ask for. If you gave me your account #, I have your info on my computer in front of me, don't spell your name, etc, I have it in front of me.

3. Don't call me and ask if you can put me on hold. If you have another call, take care of that and call me back later.

4. Don't call me with screaming kids or loud people in the background if at all possible.

5. Treat me nicely and you will get what you want, most of the time.

6. Don't attack me personally, it's usually not my fault and it will not get you what you want.

7. Please be prepared before you call me, have your account # and other relevant information ready before you call me.

8. Be brief. Don't take up more time than necessary, there are other customers waiting to be helped.

9. Don't threaten to sue my company, you probably won't follow up on it and it just makes me not want to help you.

10. Slow down. Don't give me your account number 100 miles per hour, I'm not a machine, lol.

Yesterday we bought a new sleeper sofa couch for our family room, so last night after I got home from the Real game(when my hubby was feeling a little better) we decided to move our old couch from the family room to our front room, we moved a couple things around, next thing you know, we are rearranging the whole room(it turned out pretty nice). Who new old furniture could look good in a different room.... 2 hours later we decided that it was really late and needed to go to bed, needless to say, I am very tired today..I can't keep going on 3-4 hours of sleep. Don't know how I managed to write two blog posts in one day, I should be tired more often, lol.

This seems to always happen, we will start doing something and we can't stop. Or I'll start watching a little bit of a T.V. show and it's kinda late, but I decide to stay up and watch the whole thing, cause it can't "wait" until the next day, lol..then I pay for it the next day. I'm weird I guess, lol :)

Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto

Yesterday I went to the inaugural Real Salt Lake game at the new Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy. My hubby and I where suppose to go together, but he got sick, so my mom ended up going with me instead. We had so much fun. Before the game, there where small fireworks, streamers everywhere, a bunch of Army folks held out a huge US flag in the shape of the United States(it was pretty cool, I've never seen one like that) while the National Anthem was sung. The game was so exciting, it was a sold out game of 20,008, there was so many people there. On everyone's seats there was a little white Inaugural towel, everyone was waving them at the same time, it looked cool. The stadium was huge and beautiful. My mom and I had a blast. It was a little cold, but it was worth it to be there on a historic day. The game ended in a tie, it would have been better if we would have won, but at least we didn't lose.

--Don't mind my Utah Utes sweater, I don't actually own a Real Salt Lake sweater. Christmas presents anyone *wink* *wink* lol

My hubby and I went camping this weekend up at Rockport(near Park City). It was so much fun, it rained and hailed a little, but it was still a lot of fun and very relaxing. On our way home from camping we stopped at the Park City Outlet mall, we walked around, bought a couple of things and picked up a new puppy! lol.

They had a shop there called Furburbia-basically it was a pet rescue shelter, we walked in to just "look" and we fell in love with a doggie, so we had to bring her home to be part of our family. Her name is Ziggy, she is a 1 and a half year old Pit bull mix. I know Pitbulls have a bad reputation, but she definitely gives Pitbulls a good name, she is not aggressive, she is a sweetheart, was already house trained, has obedience training, is good with kids and is is so playful and happy. I don't think she knows she's a Pitbull, lol. Here are some pics of our new doggie..

Our other dogs don't know quite what to think of her, they kind of stay away, but they are getting a long better and better everyday.

Happy Patriot Day-September 11. I can remember exactly what I was doing and where I was on Sept 11, 2001, when I found out that our country had been attacked. It makes sad, all those people that died, what a tragic loss. I can't imagine how all the victims' families feel. All I can say is that I'm glad I live in this beautiful country and I'm proud to be an American Citizen, what a blessing!!

My husband and I just celebrated our Sixth year wedding anniversary on Sat (9/6)! To celebrate we flew out to Vegas and had and awesome weekend. We also went went to be there for his cousin's wedding, it was a last minute decision to go to Vegas, but it was one of the funnest trips. I have pictures I'll be posting soon.

I just have to say that I love my hubby so much, I am so lucky and so blessed. Here is a list of reasons why I love my husband:

I'm so excited, Utah football season is right around the corner. As part of our yearly tradition, my husband, his little brother and I went to Utah Fanfest on Saturday at Rice Eccles Stadium. We got some autographs, got to meet a bunch of athletes, football players, the coach, cheerleaders, the Mascot-Swoop, the band was there and we won some prizes. It was such a blast. Lagoon Day

On Sunday my husband and I went to Lagoon with our family. I haven't been to Lagoon in 5 years. We had a blast, there are so many new rides and we got on most of them. The weather wasn't too bad either. I was so tired and sore by the end of the day. Here are some pictures from our fun day:

My mom and I went dinner and a movie last weekend. We saw the movie "Mamma Mia." It was really good. I love the story and the music(Abba). We had a really good time hanging out. Thanks mom!

Eclipse

First of all I would like to apologize to my husband and my doggies for ignoring them the last few weeks, lol(love you).....

I just finished reading Eclipse (3rd book in the Twilight Series), just in time to start reading the next and final book Breaking Dawn which comes out in 2 days(Aug 2nd)!

I'm now more of a Jacob fan, but I still like Edward for different reasons. I'm torn about who I would prefer Bella to end up with. Jacob seems to have more good things on his side and her life wouldn' have to change much, but then again, I feel like she loves Edward more(but it's hard to see what her future will be like with him)--Ahhh--I wonder what will happen, I can't wait to read the next book and get an answer.

I'm officially a "Twilight Nerd" and I love it, lol. Thanks JaNece, lol.

American Idols Tour!

My husband and I went to the American Idols Tour concert last Monday July 14th, we had such a blast.

It was soooo loud, especially anytime the name David Archuleta came up, you could feel the energy at the E Center. My husband said he should have worn ear plugs, he didn't expect to hear so many screaming girls-including me(lol).

Each Idol came out and sang 3 songs in the order of their elimination, so it was Chikezie, Ramiele Malubay, Michael Johns(my second fave), Kristy Lee Cook, Carly Smithson, Brooke White, Jason Castro(the dreads), Syesha Mercado, David Archuleta and David Cook. Then the whole group(the 10) sang one song at the end. It was one the of the most exciting concerts I've been to. We had pretty good seats on the floor and every time a new singer would come out, I would run up to the front row and take some really good pictures( I kept getting sent back to my seat lol), check them out:

My husband also took a video of David Archuleta(our fave) singing "Stand By Me." Actually our recording is mostly girls screaming and a little singing, it was awesome though. After David A was done singing he got emotional and was crying a little, it was really sweet, check it out:

After the concert, we stuck around for a little while and ran in to Jeff and Lupe Archuleta(David Archuleta's parents), they were really nice and told us they were really proud of their son:

New Moon

Two down, one to go until the next one comes out--I just finished reading the second book New Moon (by Stephenie Meyer). It was so good, especially at the end. I loved it, it made me laugh and cry, I love how these books just suck you in and you can't put them down :) I'm very excited, I just started reading the 3 book the of the Twilight series- Eclipse--I better read quick, because the 4th book- Breaking Dawn comes out on August 2nd(in eleven days!!).

Twilight

I just finished reading the book Twilight by Stephenie Meyer and I loved it!

Thank you JaNece for recommending this book, it was awesome, I love the story and I'm excited to see what happens next. I can't wait to finish the next two books in the series- New Moon and Eclipse. I didn't understand what the hype was with these books, but now I get it, once you start reading, you can't put the book down, I would even have dreams about this book, lol.

The Bachelorette

The Bachelorette is one of my favorite shows on right now. I love DeAnna Pappas, she is so honest and real.

Next Monday is the Final Rose-the season finale, where we find out who she chooses. I have no idea who she is going to pick. She seems to really like Jesse, he has stood out from beginning and you can tell she really is attracted to him, but I'm not sure he can give her the future she wants. I really hope she chooses Jason, he is such a sweetheart and he is always so excited to see her. I can already see Jason, his son and DeAnna as a family, they are so cute together. I'm so excited for next week's finale. In my opinion, this has been the best season of the Bachelor\Bachelorette.

The weather was so nice last night we decided to go to sleep with the windows open. All of a sudden we start hearing 2 neighbor dogs barking. Raja starts growling and wanting to bark. My hilarious husband tells him"Shut up Raja, that doesn't concern you." It was so funny, because it was like Raja understood and immediately quieted down, lol. I bet if Raja could talk he would say something like "Excuuuuuse me!" I found this so funny, I was cracking up, lol.

Surgery

So as most of you know I had my surgery on Friday, everything went well. I will be on Medical Leave for about 4-6 weeks, so I will be taking it easy. I'm not sure how much I will be writing on here for a few weeks, but I wanted to just let you know :)

Disney

I got so close..aghhh, bittersweet. I qualified on the radio to win a trip to Disneyland. Five other people also qualified, One out of six chance in winning! They did the drawing today, but I didn't win, another lady won. Ohh, so sad, I came so close, it was really exciting to at least be qualified and my chances were good. I will keep trying, one day I will make it to Disneyland, either on my own or I will win a trip :)

Utah Jazz and David Archuleta

My hubby and I went to the Utah Jazz game at the Energy Solutions Arena last Friday and watched our Utah Jazz beat the Lakers in a Playoff game, it was an awesome night! It was so exciting to be there, it was so loud, we had so much fun even though we had Laker fans sitting next to us(they where nice though,lol).

Before the game David Archuleta sang the National Anthem..he was amazing.

After the game was over, we where walking around the hallways and ran in to David Archuleta's dad and brother, they where really nice, I asked them both a few questions about David and their feelings on the show, etc. My husband was kind of embarrassed that I was "harassing" them. But how could I pass up on the opportunity to talk to them--specially about -David--I'm a groupie, lol. I got some pictures taken with them. What an awesome night we had!

I've been loving American Idol this season. There is so much talent, it's such an exciting season. Our local David Archuleta is my favorite!

He is so talented, his voice is amazing for his age, I love his sweet, innocent, humble demeanor...I really hope he wins. I know I'm a nerd, but I've actually been voting this season, I'm so excited. So as everyone knows, if--when-- he remains in the competition tonight, he will be doing his hometown visit this Friday at the Murray High School football field. It will be a big deal and I will surely be there, I'm so excited, maybe you'll see me on t.v--yeah right--me and the other 20,000 people that will be there.

I found out today that David Archuleta Fans are called "Archies."

I love my new work schedule, I work 4 ten hour shifts and get Wednesdays off. So I have Weds, Saturday and Sunday off. I can get so much done on Wednesdays, especially things that I could not get done during the weekend, I love it. Andres also has Wednesdays off- so it's nice being able to do stuff together --stuff we couldn't do on the weekends--like go to the movies when no one is there--it's fun. Andres and I went to Wendover yesterday(Weds), I deposited some money there and he brought some back, we had a blast!

I hear the funniest things at work

This is hilarious, due to client privacy, I can't mention where I work...but every day I hear the funniest things from "clients" that call me. Here is what I heard today:

The person calls in with questions about their account, so I ask them for their account number and then I ask them to verify their name, date of birth and finally their address. The person asks me "Do you mean the address of where I live?" --this is what I wanted to say(but I didn't) " NO, the address of where you hang out, DUH!!" Seriously, it's hilarious, I could write a book about the funny things I hear on a daily basis, but I won't cause it may get me in trouble, lol.

On my lunch I went through the Wendy's drive thru and I used my Visa Debit card--(the card has a picture of my husband and I on it), the lady that took my card, looks at the card and tells me "your husband is Hunky!"---I was like "waaoww!", but then I thought about it and said, "I know, I agree, thanks." She says, "you should be proud--cause you got him". I am proud that I got him, lol, he is "hunky/good looking" (that was the first thing I noticed about him--7 and 1/2 years ago) , it's also a bonus that on top of that he is such a sweetheart and he makes me the happiest girl :)

Why do I own DVD's?

I don't get it(my husband makes fun of me for this, lol), why do I prefer to watch movies when they come on T.V., rather than watch the DVD---which I probably own. This weekend one of my favorite movies "Titanic" was on T.V, and yeah, I sat there for 3 hours enduring commercials and all just to watch the movie. "Jack I'll never let go"-- my favorite scene(the saddest too), also when the old lady throws the diamond necklace in the water and makes that little noise-Aaghhh..I get a kick out of it, lol. I guess I'll never know, we own a tower of DVD's and I never pick one out and watch it, I'll watch it when it comes on T.V. , lol :)
